~ Culinary Q&A & Kitchen Therapy Too (4/29/11) ~
I did indeed get up at 3:00AM this morning to watch The Royal Wedding. As the old Beatles song goes (to the best of my recollection): "Got up, got out-ta bed, dragged a comb across my head. Went downstairs to have a cup...", and, for me it was to watch BBC America's broadcast of this magnificent event. If you think this is crazy, I understand completely, BUT, having been a 3:00AM participant in the wedding of Prince Charles and the beloved Lady Di thirty-something years ago, this was one wedding I was not going to miss. Without getting all blubbery, it was a most amazing event, exhibiting the perfect balance between royal pomp and circumstance and understated class I have ever witnessed. With all the ugliness that is going on in current events these days, it was wonderful to leave it all behind for a few hours and partake in a fairytale with a happy ending... kitchen therapy at its best!

Kitchen Encounters had one extremely flattering comment and a request from a Facebook reader, which I will happily comply with.
C. Cheryl says: Melanie, please share the picture of your Russian Easter Pysanky eggs, the one you posted on Facebook, with your blog readers. I know it is not food, but it is art, and you are one very talented artist in both departments!
Q. Cheryl asks: Melanie, would you consider doing a blog post teaching us how to make your eggs? I've never seen anything like this before and I would love to know more.
A. Kitchen Encounters: When I posted that picture on Facebook on Good Friday, I was overwhelmed by the response it got, and, you Cheryl are not the only person who asked for a blog post about making them. I am determined to do it, but I cannot promise it in a week or two, meaning: while this is doable, it will take me quite a bit of time to do it right. It will be a post that I will work on in my spare time, and it might take a couple of months before it is done. But I assure you: "So it shall be written, so it shall be done." ~ Ramses II
